CHURCH WORK
Gap Year Placement
We have gap year workers placed across Teesside who are either serving alongside church youth workers or leading the church’s youth work themselves. Many are working in teams to volunteer in local schools, building relationships with young people that encourage links with church youth work.
Events
If you have a youth event coming up and you’d like a guest speaker, worship leader, mobile football cage, or extra volunteers, we can arrange for some of our team to come along and help. Or if you’re wanting to set up a youth event and would like some ideas for where to start, we would love to come along and chat with you.
Cultural Exchange
We host cultural exchange teams from the US who spend a week serving with local churches. Partnering with teams is a great way to bring in extra help for projects or events, and getting to meet Christian young people from another country can be an amazing learning experience for your youth group.
We want to see young people engaging with their local churches, and we will do just about anything possible to help that happen. If you’re a local church, and have an idea of how we could support you, please do get in touch!
We also want to encourage and build a community for local youth workers and host a monthly meeting on Monday mornings. We worship, pray, and study the Bible together. For more information, contact Tim Wye-Williams by email at tim@tvyfc.co.uk
What local church leaders have to say about Tees Valley Youth for Christ
Having passionate Christian gap year workers injected into our church and youth work has transformed our ministry! Our potential as a church to reach out to and disciple young people has been opened up; we have gone from having 2 teenagers in our youth church to now having 30 gathering each week and hundreds reached through schools and community projects. Each gap year worker we have had over the past few years has become one of our family and served and loved Jesus with us.
Over the last 16 years that I have worked as a church leader in Stockton, I have been privileged to share in hosting many mission teams and gap year placements, through Tees Valley Youth for Christ. On every occasion, our church has been blessed greatly through this ministry and it has grown. It is so helpful to have enthusiastic, young, servant-hearted Christians come to partner with us, share their deep love for Jesus within our Christian community and join us in proclaiming Jesus’ love within the local community. Our church is enriched by hosting 3 excellent gap year placement students at the moment – for anyone considering having either a mission team or a gap year placement, I am happy to highly recommend both forms of ministry to you!
