Do you ever think about what life would be like without Google? I think it is safe to say that we use Google pretty much every day. Whether it is looking up the lyrics to your favourite song or typing in some of the words from a Bible verse you are trying to remember. Google has really changed all of our lives, but for me I need to extend a special thanks, for Google is what brought me to England.

It was September of 2015, I was about 7 months away from graduating university and was sitting in a lunch meeting with my professor and church supervisor. My professor turned to me and asked the dreaded question, “What are you going to do after graduation?”  To which I awkwardly laughed and said “I have no idea where God is leading me”. My professor continued to tell me to pray about it and figure it out so he could help me find a job.

Well, let’s just say that I went home after the meeting and had a major freak out and during my freak out I had the thought, “Heck, I’m not tied down to anyone or anything here in the States. I could go and move to another country!” Well, two seconds later I typed in to Google, “Youth Ministry in England”, and the TVYFC website popped up. After months of researching, praying, interviewing and a few more freak outs, I moved to England.

From the moment I found the TVYFC website, I had a lot of peace about serving in England. I didn’t know anyone who had served in England and only a vague idea of what I would be doing there, but I still had a strong feeling England was where I needed to go. Now after 5 months of living here, I can say that I am continually being affirmed of God’s calling me here to England.

I think of John 10:10 “The thief comes to only steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Living in England, I am able to see how much love God has for this country and the people in it. However, it is also easy to see how “the thief” is still out and about stealing and destroying. The more time I spend here, the more I am reminded that sharing the Gospel with others and the deep love God has for us is so important. Through knowing Jesus and what he has done for me, for us, has forever changed my life. It is a message that has made my life more full, given me the courage to move across the world, and to have an overwhelming passion for others to know about Him.
